Are you looking for an unusual venue for a company function, a gala dinner or a charity evening?

The Musée des Beaux-Arts, situated right in the heart of the historic centre of Angers, a seven-minute walk from the train station, is the ideal location for a memorable event in the magnificent architectural setting that is the Musée des Beaux-Arts.

Enjoy the courtyard views of the imposing 15th century Logis Barrault or the southerly-facing terrace in the shade of Niki de St Phalle’s sculpture, L’Arbre serpent [Translator’s note: The Snake-tree]. Take ownership of the museum for a glamourous evening, whether it’s a sit-down dinner or cocktails. The classical-style hall can be easily adapted to meet the needs of large groups, whereas the ‘Passage des musées’ space is a more intimate venue that can host between 40 to 70 people. Enjoy a cultural visit that takes in the works of Fragonard, Chardin, Watteau, Lippi, Ingrès, Champaigne, Morellet … and discover local artists such as Bodinier, Tremblay, Mérodack-Jeaneau…
Tour guides are on hand to provide you with insights and share their knowledge, in French or in English.

Installed in the 15th century private mansion, known as the Logis Barrault, since 1796, the Musée des Beaux-Arts is a jewel of Gothic civil architecture. The renovated museum offers 3,000 m2 of exhibition space, occupied by two permanent collections: Beaux-Arts [Fine Arts] (350 paintings and sculptures from the 14th century to the present day) and Histoire d’Angers [The History of Angers] (550 archaeological pieces and objets d’art from the Neolithic period to the present day). Throughout the year, the museum stages exhibitions that showcase the works of contemporary artists or illuminate the art of previous centuries.

The Galerie David d’Angers, just three minutes on foot from the gallery, also offers spaces that may be privatized. For more information, click here

Cultural programme

The rental of both venues is contingent upon the programming of a cultural activity at the Musée des Beaux-Arts or the Galerie David d’Angers (temporary exhibitions or permanent collections). Contact us for more information about the various offers available:

- theme-based guided tours lasting 45-90 minutes
- ‘Express visits’: short guided tours as the group strolls through the various rooms and halls of the venue (especially suited for larger groups)
- ‘Customized visits’ – are you interested in a particular topic or theme? On request, the museum can create a specially tailored visit of the collections.
